At the Homecoming dance, on Wednesday, Sept. 29, masks need to be worn according to the Governor’s mandate about indoor gatherings.

“Indoors, we have to wear masks, so for games night and at the dance, masks have to be worn. I believe there is going to be an outdoor area at the dance so if people need, they can go outside to take a break from wearing a mask,” Homecoming committee adviser Kathryn Curry said.

Other Homecoming events will look different this year as well. The school cannot hold large assemblies like a pep assembly or any kind of in person showcase of the Homecoming candidates.

“Masks will obviously be different; we aren’t doing the pep assembly because of large gatherings. We are doing the morning announcements where the candidates introduce themselves and what they’re running for,” Curry said.

Many people are just happy that the school is able to have a dance this year and get back a small sense of normalcy.
