On Oct. 7 the girls’ varsity soccer team defeated cross town rival, Hollidaysburg 4-0 at Mansion Park Stadium.

The team is on a two game winning streak after also defeating Mifflin county earlier in the week.

Seniors were recognized for their sportsmanship during their senior night celebration.

Out of the eleven starting players, ten were seniors. These seniors reflected on their soccer careers at Altoona.

“My mother [has impacted my soccer journey] because she always pushed me to be my best,” Mueller said.

“Play because you want to but not because you have to,” Wise said.

“It’s great to always have another family to fall back on and have fun with a lot of people,” Price said.

Senior Lauren Kiser played Midfield. She has played soccer for fourteen years and has been on an Altoona team since she was in seventh grade. She wore number twelve.

“It is a good environment and keeps everyone striving to be the best they can be and shows that Altoona players are doing the best they can,” Kiser said

Senior Morgan Sarver played Center Forward and Center mid. She has played soccer since she was five and has been playing for the school since her seventh grade year. She wore number thirteen.

“I think it is cool to represent our school and play against teams from many different places. It is just a good environment to be in and I love how friends come to games for you,” Sarver said.

Senior Rebecca Dull played Midfield. She has played soccer for fourteen years and has been on an Altoona team for six years. She wore number fifteen.

“My parents [have impacted my soccer journey] because they always supported me.

Senior Addison Dietzel played the Center defender position. She has played soccer for eleven years and has been playing on the Altoona team for five years since her freshman year. She wore number seventeen.

“I really appreciate getting to know all of them [teammates] better and making so many good memories. I’d say to enjoy your time in high school, make amazing memories and believe in yourself,” Dietzel said.

The most common experience that they remember was when they won districts.
