The tech window sits empty but on a daily basis Chuck Myers is available to assist with technology problems.

When students run into an issue with their Chromebook, they can visit the help desk located in the A building, next to the library, to get help. The help desk provides help with internet connections, Chromebooks and more.

According to community service worker senior Joseph Ball, if the Chromebook doesn’t work or if a Chromebook charger is missing or broken the best way to get help at the IT help desk.

“When I’m in the high school building, I usually take the Chromebook down to the basement or help the IT technician and sometimes I’ll go to the help desk in junior high and help out with the Chromebooks,” Ball said.

Ball feels that the help desk is helpful if the Chromebook isn’t functioning correctly or is unable to connect to the internet.

“Depending on the issue with the Chromebook, I either factory reset the Chromebook, or I’ll manually take out the screws and fix the Chromebook. I usually help out with the school Chromebooks so that the students can use them. If you ever need help with your Chromebook or with any other tech related issues, the best thing to do is contact Chuck Murray,” Ball said.

If a student needs to get their charger replaced, the help desk is a place they are able to go to get a new charger.

“There’s usually spare Chromebook straps or a charger if you need them. Depending on what happened to your Chromebook charger or strap, you might have to pay for them. For a new charger it costs $60,” Ball said.

Technology assistant, Chuck Murray, has worked as a tech assistant for thirteen years. According to Murray, he enjoys spending his day around students and the school’s atmosphere.

“I support all the teachers and students with whatever their needs are when it comes to technology issues or Chromebook issues. Being around the students and helping others when they need help makes me happy about my job the most,” Murray said.

Students and teachers would most likely be able to go to the IT help desk throughout the day.

“There’s usually someone at the help desk if you ever need help or if you have concerns. I am not always at the high school sometimes I’ll be somewhere else. If I’m not here someone else is usually here from seven in the morning until eleven in the afternoon and twelve thirty to the end of the day. The only time the IT help desk is closed is during my lunch period,” Murray said.
