Announcements for 9/27

The Homecoming Dance is Thursday from 7-9 in our fieldhouse. Get your tickets in the
morning or during lunch near the cafeteria and after school in room B318. Five dollars and
your ID or hall pass are required. Look forward to seeing you dancing the night away on
Thursday!

Attention boys: There will be an open gym for boys’ basketball on Tuesday, September 27 th
from 6:30-8:15 at the Junior High Fieldhouse for any 9 th grader who is not playing a fall sport.

Attention Astronomy Club! There will be a brief but important mandatory meeting for all club
members helping out at the epic Haunted Fort Roberdeau on Saturday, October 8 th . This
meeting will be this Wednesday after school from 2:50-3:20PM. You will receive your
permission slip for the event. Hope to see you there!

Attention all students: The Homecoming theme day for tomorrow is Dress Like a Teacher
Day! Remember, Homecoming Games Night is tonight at 7PM. Admission is $2 at the door.
Come and support the 20 Homecoming candidates and their teams!

Want to win some free coffee or your favorite drink? Participate in the Mountain Echo
Scavenger Hunt. Look for the posters hung throughout the school. Scan the QR code or visit
the news ticker at the top of the Mountain Echo webpage to find the scavenger hunt. Good

Attention Seniors: Be sure to stop by and visit with an admissions counselor from IUP today
during lunches. Tomorrow, September 28 th , the Director of Admissions from The Salon
Professional Academy will be here. Plan on stopping by their table on the bridge to see what
they have to offer you.

Dear Seniors and Juniors: If you are over 16 years of age and would like to take the ASVAB on
Tuesday, October 4 th , please refer to the email that Mr. Neely sent to you on September 16 th .
The link to sign up is on this email. Deadline to sign up is Wednesday, September 28 th . The
Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) can help you take steps toward finding a
career that is right for you. You can benefit from taking the exam whether you plan to pursue
further education after high school, join the military or join the workforce. The exam will
begin promptly at 8:00 AM in the back of the auditorium. You must sign up via the link from
Mr. Neely’s email to ensure that there is an exam for you. More information about the ASVAB
can be found in the counseling office. Please see your school counselor if you have any
questions.

Attention Juniors: The PSAT will be held on Wednesday, October 12 th , 2022. The PSAT
measures critical reading, math and writing skills and is an important test for any junior
considering college in the future. The cost is $20. Late registration will be accepted until
October 8 th and will cost an additional $5. The first 100 students to register will be eligible to
test. Register at Total Registration. More information is in an email to parents from
