Announcements for 9/28

The Mountain Echo is writing a story about the Mountain Lion backpack program. We would
like to talk with students who have participated in the program or volunteered for the
program. If you would be willing to talk to a Mountain Echo reporter, please email
Mrs. Vanish or stop by room B130 3 rd period.

What a great time Games Night was!! Homecoming Week celebrations continue with the
Homecoming Dance Thursday night from 7-9! Tickets must be purchased before the dance.
We shuffled the ticket sales table to outside the cafeteria, so buy your $5 ticket there before
school and during lunch or after school in room B318. Show your ID or Hall pass, buy your
ticket and get all jazzed up to attend one of the best events of the fall — the Homecoming
Dance!

Attention all students: The Homecoming theme day for tomorrow is Neon Day. Wear your
brightest attire! Tomorrow you will be sent a link to vote for Homecoming candidates. Check
your email for more information.

Attention Astronomy Club! There will be a brief but important mandatory meeting for all club
members helping out at the epic Haunted Fort Roberdeau on Saturday, October 8 th . This
meeting will be today after school from 2:50-3:20 PM. You will receive your permission slip for
the event. Hope to see you there!

Want to win some free coffee or your favorite drink? Participate in the Mountain Echo
Scavenger Hunt. Look for the posters hung throughout the school. Scan the QR code or visit
the news ticker at the top of the Mountain Echo webpage to find the scavenger hunt. Good

Attention Seniors: Be sure to stop by and visit with an admissions counselor from The Salon
Professional Academy today. Plan on stopping by their table on the bridge to see what they
have to offer you.

Dear Seniors and Juniors: If you are over 16 years of age and would like to take the ASVAB on
Tuesday, October 4 th , please refer to the email that Mr. Neely sent to you on September 16 th .
The link to sign up is on this email. The deadline to sign up is today. The Armed Services
Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) can help you take steps toward finding a career that is
right for you. You can benefit from taking the exam whether you plan to pursue further
education after high school, join the military or join the workforce. The exam will begin
promptly at 8:00 AM in the back of the auditorium. You must sign up via the link from Mr.
Neely’s email to ensure that there is an exam for you. More information about the ASVAB can
be found in the counseling office. Please see your school counselor if you have any questions.
