Attention students: February marks the time of the year for Student Council’s annual Cereal
Drive. All boxes are donated to our local Saint Vincent DePaul food pantry. This is an easy way
to help support your local community, so make sure to bring in cereal throughout February
and drop them in the large bins located by the main entrance. Thank you.

Attention all students and staff: Need an idea for dinner today? Please stop and place an
order at Chick-Fil-A between 5 and 8 PM this evening. Please be sure to mention that you are
there to support AAHS Foreign Language Club before you place your order. Part of the
proceeds from the evening will support FLC. All students and staff are able to participate.

The Mountain Echo Newspaper staff will be selling Valentine’s Day candy grams in the
cafeteria Friday, February 10 for the cost of $1. They will be delivered on Tuesday, February
14 during homeroom.

Attention Seniors: On Friday, February 10 th during 1 st period, Provine will be here to take the
Class of 2023 Senior Group Photo. You will be called down to the Field House. Please check
your email in the next few days for more information. If you are interested in purchasing a
copy, envelopes will be available in your reporting room next week or outside of B120.

Attention Juniors and Seniors: Krispy Kreme Fundraiser forms to benefit the Class of 2023
and Class of 2024 are available outside of Mrs. Dumm’s room, B120. Please help support our
prom and other class activities. Order forms and money are due by Monday, February 13 th .

Attention Seniors looking for scholarship opportunities: You will find a new scholarship
opportunity in the literature rack outside of the Guidance Office starting today. The Altoona
Kiwanis Foundation Scholarship for students enrolling in Penn State Altoona has been
announced. To be considered for this scholarship, you must complete a one-page application
and submit it before March 31 st .

Attention AAHS Juniors taking the S.A.T. this Spring: Week #5 S.A.T. Math Practice is now
available online. A Math Practice Quiz and Answer Key have been downloaded along with
other important information about the S.A.T. and College Board. The first S.A.T. of 2023 is
March 11 th with a Registration Deadline of February 10th. Join the 140+ students that have

Attention Scholarship-seeking students: There are two new scholarship opportunities which
are available to you. Go online to the AASD website, look for the “AAHS Link” dropdown and
choose the Scholarship tab to apply for the 2023 Elementary School PTO Scholarship as well as
the AAHS 2023 Scholarship. Don’t delay because the February 13 th deadline is fast
approaching!

Attention Seniors who are going on to post-secondary education to pursue a career in a
business-related field: The PA Association of Educational Office Professionals (PAEOP) is
announcing their Hermine Solt Student Scholarship. Complete details including criteria,
guidelines, and scholarship application can be found at PAEOP’s website, www.paeop.com,
under Awards & Scholarships, or stop by the Guidance Office literature rack. Deadline is
March 1 st .

Attention Seniors: The Altoona Area High School Alumni Association will once again award
ten $1,000 scholarships to qualifying students. Please stop by the literature rack outside the
guidance office to pick up an application. Completed applications are to be turned in to the
Guidance office no later than the end of the day on Thursday, March 2 nd .

Anyone with information regarding Mickey Nedimyer’s whereabouts is asked to contact
Detective Wilson at the Altoona Police Department. Mickey has been missing for many weeks
and we are requesting any information that may lead to finding him.
