Q: How did your passion for journalism begin?

A: I actually started at junior high when it was an entirely different program, and I saw all the different types of pictures you could take. I formed a passion for photography.

Q: Is there something valuable you’ve learned from journalism that you might not have learned anywhere else?

A: I think about the different areas of how to take photos and the concepts. Also, how to work a professional camera.

Q: Where were you when you began journalism compared to where you are now? What has changed about you the most?

A: Well, when I first started journalism, I wasn’t even allowed to create a spread by myself. So, actually being able to create a whole spread using templates and stuff was a change.

Q: Were there moments where you felt like giving up your position because you felt like you couldn’t handle it?

A: Yeah, this year actually. I struggled with time, my leadership position and all the stress of outside things on me, so it was kind of hard.

Q: What are the relationships like that you’ve formed throughout the years?

A: All of them are so good. Honestly, I think the best was this year with all the kids from yearbook one. We actually have this big group chat now. We also tried to hangout outside of school and we became this little family.

Q: What are your plans for after high school?

A: I have this internship with Provine, so I’m going to do that for a little while.
