Some like singing, some like acting, but for senior Megan Shultz, baking is her biggest passion.
Shultz began baking when she was younger.
“When I was younger, I used to watch that national kids’ baking champion. Yeah, so I kind of always wanted to be on that, but I’m not good enough for that. I only do recipes but yeah, I feel like it’s just a way to clear your head. I love brownies. It’s my favorite,” Shultz said.
According to Shultz, baking gave her several interests.
“I guess just being able to kind of make something yourself. Like feeling like you actually did something, like ‘Oh, I did that all by myself.’ And when people eat them, they’re like, ‘Oh my god, I love it.’ when I cook something and then I’m like, actually be honest. And then I love it. Like, I need validation,” Shultz said.
Although Shultz is interested in baking, she plans to go to college for something other than baking.
“I want to go to college for ultrasonography. I already applied to them for that. And the guy said he’d get back to me in like a week. or so. But I definitely want to dance on the side,” Shultz said.
One of Shultz’s hobbies is dancing.
“I actually started when I was five. So I’ve been dancing for really like five years. I do jazz, hip-hop and lyrical. I also teach one to three year olds. I did that class and then I’ve helped with another one, I think it’s like the five to 10 year olds,” Shultz said.
Shultz also has one younger sister.
“I have a younger sister, she’s actually adopted, which is kind of crazy, too. I want to say she’s nine years old. She was two weeks old. And we’ve had her ever since then. And we have no problems. I always wanted to be an adult trying to get along with her,” Shultz said.
