Homecoming dance to take place

Candidates make their grand entrance at last year’s dance. Every year, each candidate and their escort are announced at the dance.

The annual Homecoming dance will take place on Oct. 3 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The theme of the dance, decided by the Homecoming Committee will be Retro Rewind.

“This dance is one of the most ambitious dances we have done, decoration wise,” Homecoming Committee member Tristan Sunderland said. “It will definitely be a colorful and expressive event.”

Tickets will be sold during the week of the dance for $5. Students must present their student ID to purchase tickets.

Hey! During my third year on staff, my senior year, I have taken on the role of being Editor in Chief for Mountain Echo. My sophomore and junior year, I served as associate editor. Outside of school I enjoy hanging out with my best friend, exercising, watching Netflix, photography and working as a lifeguard and teaching swim lessons at the YMCA. After high school I plan to pursue a medical path, with the intent of being a nurse practitioner. I'm looking forward to this school year and seeing what it brings our way!

My name is Madison Aboud and I am a sophomore at AAHS. This is my second year on Mountain Echo staff and my first year as an Associate Editor. In Jr. high, I was a reporter on the AAJHS Livewire. In my free time, you can find me reading or singing along to my favorite show-tunes. I’ve always had a passion for writing. My ultimate goal after high school is to become a professional journalist. Outside of Mountain Echo, I am in band, chorus, vocal ensemble, student council and Friends of Rachel. I strive to make sure students of AAHS are finding out everything they need to know within a timely manner. I can’t wait for another great year!
