On Oct. 4, the 2024 Homecoming queen was crowned at Mansion Park. Senior Alannah Irwin was crowned queen. Irwin represented track and field.
“It was shocking to me to win Homecoming queen because I didn’t think I even had a chance of winning,” Irwin said. “I was overwhelmingly shocked with the results, but filled with joy as well.”
The coronation took place during halftime at the Harrisburg game. Twenty five candidates ran, each representing their club, sport or activity.
“I’ve been in track for six years, and I decided to represent it because it has been a huge part of my life,” Irwin said. “I wanted to be able to give back.”
Irwin plans to represent herself, as well as her class in a respectable manner.
“I will be a leader and a good role model to fulfill my duties as Homecoming queen,” Irwin said.
Senior Emma Bettwy received first runner up, while senior Ellaina Saylor received second runner up. Bettwy represented gymnastics, and Saylor represented Student Council.
“I was so blessed and so excited to have gotten runner-up,” Bettwy said. “I just went for fun memories and a good time. When I heard my name, I was truly in shock and so happy.”
“Being runner-up for Homecoming queen is such an honor,” Saylor said. “It shows that people recognize my positive impact and presence. I am so thankful to be given this opportunity.”
