Meeting. The Sign Language Club's first meeting of the school year will be on Thursday, Feb. 13. The club will meet every Thursday after school.
On Thursday, Feb. 13 from 3 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. in room B225, students interested in joining the Sign Language club as new members or returning members can learn about American Sign Language (ASL) culture.
Students will sign the manual alphabet (fingerspelling), learn numbers and basic ASL Vocabulary related to seasonal themes through practice and games every Thursday. Students who are interested can sign up for the 2024-2025 Sign Language Club Google Classroom with the class code uql53lv.
“We will learn letters, numbers, colors, days, months, feelings and then some conversational signs as the meetings progress,” Sign Language Club adviser Shelby Lenhart said. “A field trip to Penn Lincoln to share our sign language skills with the kindergarten and/or first grade classes is a possibility depending on the group’s interest.”
