This is a letter on why kids should have phones on our person in school, and I will go through three different topics to cover the whole nine yards. First topic up on the list is safety. If there is an emergency, kids can quickly contact parents to alert them of the situation. This will ensure and add on additional safety of kids. In certain situations like school shootings or any threat to the school, kids should not worry but still alert parents. Whether the student or some other source informs the parents they will still find out and it would be better to hear it from their own child. When students have their phone on their person it is just like having a lifeline in their pocket, quicker and easier, especially when we have to have a pass signed to leave the classroom.
Next topic up on the list is learning tools, phones can be used for educational purposes like apps, research, and accessing online resources that we have restrictions on the Chromebook. This will allow for a better learning style and keeping up with the generation and the use of technology. The only problem with this topic is teachers would have to crack down more on AI generation answers for assignments. This is a great educational tool and is like having a mini-library at our fingertips.
The third and final topic is organization. Phones can help students keep track of their schedules, homework with the reminder apps on phones, and they can set alarms for important tasks or deadlines with assignments and after school activities. This is a great and amazing upside to us students having our phones on our person, especially when most teenagers are irresponsible and very forgetful. This can help teach students to be more time management and responsible, along with you as a school district should be teaching us to be better and get us ready for college. In college you have to be the best at responsibility and time management, especially time management with classes being different from high school and the student-athletes.
So, in a nutshell, letting students have our phones on our person will boost safety, enhance learning, and keep us organized, setting students up for success down the road.
