Wrestling team wrecks Hollidaysburg

In the gymnasium, the wrestling team destroyed the Hollidaysburg team 64-15 on Tuesday, Jan. 13. There were many close matches, but the team ultimately succeeded.
One of the key matches was the 200-pound weight class.
“Ray Boose pinned in the first. He was hitting nice shots; he had a nice finish. He did well with that, and he beat a guy who was about a half-foot taller than him,” Head Coach Joel Gilbert said.
Another key bout was Adam Zerbee’s match.
“He had a technical fall- a sweep shot to a dump, and got multiple near fall points,” Gilbert said.
In the 120-pound weight class, Caleb Fasick did a takedown that he got on a shot.
While the match was a landslide victory for the Mountain Lions, the Hollidaysburg team was missing a couple of players.
“They didn’t have their best wrestlers, and they lost because they didn’t have a full line-up,” Gilbert said. “We dominated most of the matches, but if Hollidaysburg had a full line-up, I think it would’ve been a closer match. But we still would’ve came out on top.”
