Play those horns! AAHS performing their half time show on Sept. 14 at Mansion Park. The Altoona Lions football team lost to Chambersburg High School.

This Friday on Sep. 21, the Altoona Area High School Marching Band will be heading to Harrisburg to perform halftime at the Central Dauphin East High School. Songs will include “Sway,” “Big Noise of Winnetka,” “Land of Make Believe,” “Gospel John,” and “Fireball.”

For sophomores, this is their first away game with the high school band.

“I’m looking forward to traveling and watching the game from a different stadium,” tenth grader Lisa Yarnell said.

Senior band members have done their share of away games and know what to expect.

“We don’t do pregame at the away games, [and they] are full of the people for the other band and football team,” twelfth grader Morgan Fleck said.

The band will also be playing songs in the bleachers such as “Jungle Boogie,” “Hey Baby!,” “Uptown Funk” and “Don’t Stop Believin’,” plus several other songs and AAHS cheers.
