I Simply Love: Downtown

I simply love Downtown Altoona. I love walking along the brick road and looking into little shops. The murals painted on the sides of buildings are absolutely beautiful. It has an old feeling to it and doesn’t feel too modern which calms me. Downtown Altoona is a perfect place to take pictures if someone likes old scenery. I will always appreciate the old fashioned tone to Downtown.

Heritage Plaza stands since the early 1990s, expecting to be Altoona’s main public space. Unfortunately, it never lived up to its expectations of being a main space.
The Post Office keeps its history standing. it used to be called the Logan House, which was a place for people getting off trains to rest.
John Rita painted this mural in 1998 on the side of an insurance building. This mural is supposed to be of a person holding a postcard of Altoona in its railroad days.
Cars drive on Downtown’s brick road. It really gives that “old fashioned” Altoona feel.
The tree still glows in Heritage plaza since the tree lighting ceremony. I love how people can come together to watch the ceremony happily.
