Crumbl Cookies pink week a success

Lillian Roberts

During the week of Oct 10 through 17, Crumbl Cookies partook in “think pink” for breast Cancer awareness month. All of the cookies were themed around the color pink.

Crumbl Cookies is a cookie restaurant franchise originating in Utah with locations all around the United States. The main thing they are famous for is having a set of different flavors each week keeping customers coming back to try new ones all the time. Recently, I traveled to Crumbl Cookies’ State College, Pa location during their breast cancer awareness week, and it definitely didn’t disappoint.

The first cookie was the classic pink iced. This cookie was great, and it even came chilled. The icing was perfect, and it matched the cookie it accompanied perfectly. My only issue with this cookie was how sweet it was which was just a tad much for my taste.

Next came a true “O.G.,” the chocolate chip cookie. Although a classic, I must say I wasn’t completely thrilled. I mean, don’t get me wrong here, but it was just a bit too boring. That’s not to say it didn’t satisfy my taste buds, as it truly was a delicious treat, it just wasn’t my favorite.

After this, I moved on to the cake batter blondie cookie. This cookie was outstanding. Its sweet factor was perfect, and the flavors of the sprinkles combined with white chocolate and blondie cookie flavor, left me in awe.

Have you ever tried Crumbl Cookies?

The next cookie I tried was the raspberry lemonade. It’s safe to say it was an all star. I absolutely loved this flavor, and it ended up being my favorite. The sweet cookie mixed with the tart of the lemonade flavor, along with the raspberry added a nice fruity hint. In retrospect I should have just ordered a box full of these.

The pink velvet cookie was the worst, and the only bad cookie I had. The cookie itself was very tasty. However, once I got to the frosting in the middle, I was kind of grossed out. This is because it wasn’t frosting at all! The substitute for frosting on this treat was cream cheese which I am not a huge fan of. This ended up ruining the entire cookie for me, and it was borderline inedible.

Crumbl’s most popular cookie for this week was the pink doughnut. It was the most unique of the sweets I had tried on this trip as it was decorated like a doughnut complete with sprinkles and a hole in the middle. The visual appeal of this cookie was phenomenal, and the taste didn’t disappoint either. My only criticism is, again, the sweet factor. I am no stranger to sugar, but too much of it can be overwhelming at times. It didn’t really taste like a doughnut either, but it was still pretty delicious.

Overall this week was mostly successful. Yes, I had some criticism; however, the strong suits of the cookies I tasted made these criticisms almost obsolete. The visual design and taste of the cookies this week was enough to make my mouth water, and I was very impressed. It was also nice to see this company raise awareness for breast cancer. I encourage all readers to go out to State College, and try some amazing cookies.
