Lately I’ve been feeling like branching out and trying something new. Boba Tea caught my eye. I’ve seen many people drinking boba, talking about boba and telling me to go try it. This weekend I headed over to Boba Tea in the Ivy Side Plaza.

When I first walked into the cafe, it was very homey and welcoming. I was instantly greeted by one employee. He gave me the menu and told me to let him know when I was ready to order. I’ve never been to Boba Tea, so I didn’t really know what drinks they had. While scanning the menu, a particular drink captivated me: the blueberry berry cheesecake drink. One important thing to know is that I love cheesecake, it’s my favorite dessert. When I ordered, I got blueberry toppings in the drink to help enhance the blueberry flavor. Naturally, since my love for cheesecake is so strong, I had high expectations for this drink. I also got the Oreo monster drink because one could never go wrong with anything Oreo. 

While sitting and waiting for my drink, I was taking in the surroundings. They had subtle and cute decorations, music and the news playing. The drinks were prepared quickly and looked delicious. 

When I ordered, I got a large and a medium drink. When the drinks came out, I was a little taken back by the size of the large drink. The cup was large and skinny, while the medium was average size and wider. Even though there was a significant size difference, the prices were not too far from each other; the large was $7.54 and the medium was $6.23. Not only was I impressed with the quality and speed of the service, but the drinks tasted amazing. The blueberry cheesecake drink tasted just like the actual dessert, and the blueberry boba balls added so much to the drink. When I tried the Oreo monster, I was also very surprised. Many Oreo drinks don’t have a distinguished Oreo taste, but this drink did. 

Overall, my experience at Boba Tea was good. The employees are very kind, the service is fast and the cafe was very welcoming. I would recommend Boba to everyone. Next time I go, I plan on trying the Dark Coco Lava drink.
