Two hour delay scheduled
On April 6 the Altoona Area School District will have a two hour delay in order for the school personell and Altoona police department to hold a debriefing meeting after the active shooter scare last week..
“The fact that the school is providing us with time during the day to debrief on what happened last Wednesday is an excellent idea. I think it will give time for people to get a lot of questions answered, as well as provide an opportunity for either areas where we can say things went well and or areas of concern, to be addressed,” science teacher Deidra Dumm said.
Students are not required to attend school until 9:40 a.m. The doors will open at 9:15, allowing students into the building to start their school day. The day will run on a two hour delay schedule B, students will be missing first and second period and begin their day with third period. Third and fourth period will be shortened, but fifth period and on will conduct as if it was a normal school day.
