What do you get. The vocal ensemble performs part of 16 Tons by Tennessee Ernie Ford at rehearsal. The vocal ensemble will perform six pieces.

On May 4, students in the concert chorus and vocal ensemble will perform a total of 12 pieces starting at 7 p.m. Both groups will perform six pieces each.  They have been working since January to prepare for the concert.

“It’s all about reaching their true potential, but it just really showcases the biggest sound that they can make. It’s super impressive,” chorus director Kelly Sipes said.

Sipes is in charge of selecting each piece in the program. According to Sipes, she likes all of the selections for different reasons and believes there are a couple of really unique pieces. “Measuring the Sky” is one of the pieces the vocal ensemble is performing and is one of their favorites according to Sipes.
