The girls’ volleyball team will be hosting Hollidaysburg on Sept. 18 in honor of Erin Dodson. Erin Dodson was a volleyball player for the high school all the way up until 2004 when she graduated. A couple of years into her college volleyball career, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor and received multiple rounds of chemotherapy. She passed away in 2012.
“The Erin Dodson game means so much to the volleyball team and all those involved in it,” Senior Aunye Counsman said. “Rather than just a memorial, we think of it as a celebration of the exemplary person she was. That night is when we really put everything out on the court in support of the Dodson family.”
JV will play at 5:30 p.m. and varsity will play at 6:30 p.m. in the AAHS field house.
