On Dec. 15, during seventh and eighth periods, the student council staff will be filling holiday baskets for families in need during the holidays.
The student council committee plans to have the Black Box Theater reserved and closed off for assembling these baskets.
“All the food that gets donated comes to us in mass and what we like to do is to make sure that every family gets the same amount of stuff. They will receive a basket and probably a bag as well” Student Council Adviser Jessica Hogan said.
This tradition has been around for more than 30 years. Baskets consist of things from Kleenex tissues to cans of vegetables.
“They felt good helping, knowing that we helped those families. This would take some pressure off of them so that they could focus their money towards a Christmas present instead of having to worry about staples in their pantry,” Hogan said.
