AAHS Music Department T-shirt contest

Winner Winner. This shirt is what Senior Mackenzie Colabove got to design after she won the contest

Annually, the Fine Arts Department has a T-shirt making contest to find a design for the spring trip that year. Last year when they had a trip to New York City to see Broadway, senior Mackenzie Colabove won the competition. This year, the trip will be to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, then to Cedar Point.

“We have been doing this for about 10 years now, and we normally have about 15 students enter designs,” Orchestra instructor Kelly Detwiler said.

The contest is from April 15-26. Teachers will pick a winner and recognize them when they hand out the shirts before the trip. Some perks are gift cards, first pick of seats on the bus and their design on everyone’s shirt.

My name is Eric Weyant. I am a sophomore on the Mountain Echo and Horseshoe staff. I am a bass drummer in the band. When I'm not drumming, I'm playing basketball or cornhole. I'm very good at cornhole. In my first tournament, I placed in the top 5. I like playing with my family in Claysburg, and we enter tournaments together. I'm excited to tell you what's going on in the school this year.
