Need help with self-esteem, depression, anxiety or just need a brain break? Well you’re in luck this year as the school brings back therapy dogs. Two therapy dogs are here almost every day of the week, but the Pawzone therapy dogs will join them every other Thursday.
“In 22-23 the dogs came one day, and it was such a huge success,” librarian Tanya Lucas said. “So many kids came during lunch that I was standing at the door with a line of kids down the hallway because we had too many people in the library petting the dogs.”
Lucas also commented that the group of volunteers who bring in the Paw Zone therapy dogs “enjoy meeting and talking with our students as much as our students enjoy interacting with the dogs.”
Anyone interested in the therapy dogs can join them during all lunch periods in the library starting Sept. 12. They will come in on Thursdays throughout the year. The second visit will be Sept. 26.
