Girls’ volleyball to take on Hollidaysburg in annual Erin Dodson Night game

The girls’ volleyball team will face off against Hollidaysburg in an annual match up between the teams on Sept. 16. The game pays homage to Altoona alumni student Erin Dodson. Dodson played volleyball for the school for the entirety of her high school career. She was diagnosed with a brain tumor. After years of fighting, she passed away in 2012.

“We all look forward to playing in the Erin Dodson game each year,” senior Ava Steinbugl said. “It’s such a unique experience, and I am always excited to play while also honoring her and her family.”

Game times are at 5:30 p.m. for JV and 6:30 for varsity and will be held in the field house.

I took Intro to Publications and really enjoyed writing about athletics and stories that came up throughout the year; so I joined Mountain Echo. If I'm not at school I'm probably with my friends, playing basketball, or sleeping while listening to music. I listen to all kinds of music but my favorite artists at the moment are Mac Miller and Frank Ocean.
