Attention Students: The Black Student Union will be holding its next meeting on Wednesday, September 18 in Mrs. Stephen’s room, A229 right after school at 2:50 p.m. The Black Student Union is a club that was organized and started by students in 2020 to bring AAHS minority and African American students together as a group. The club’s mission is to increase acceptance of those who are diverse in the school, celebrate history, culture, and inclusion while educating and giving back to the school and community in a positive way. If this sounds like something that you’d be interested in, please consider joining the Black Student Union in A229 next Wednesday. New members are always welcome!

Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test will be given at Altoona Area High School on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 and will cost $20. It is an important first step on the road to college. We recommend that juniors who are considering pursuing a four- year degree after high school sign up. We do not offer the exam to sophomores. ACA students signing up will be expected to test at Altoona Area High School. The test provides students with practice and insight into testing strategies, plus invaluable information for educational and career planning. In addition, the selection index given with the individual results qualifies academically superior students for scholarships and awards.
Registration ends September 23 through Total Registration https://user.totalregistration.net/PSAT/390055.
The exam is open to the first 100 juniors who apply. After September 23 at 5:00 p.m., a $5.00 late fee will be charged. Late registrations end on September 23 at 7:00 p.m.
