Cross country fundraiser event to take place

Going the distance. Cross country runners pacing themselves for the challenge ahead.

Girls’ and boys’ cross country will race at Logan Elementary, where they will hold their annual fundraising event. The date is set for Oct. 21, and will start at 4 p.m.. The purpose of this meet is to spread awareness and educate others on the topic of cancer.

”We want others to learn and dedicate time to promoting education and training to understand different types of cancer, prevention and treatment,” girls’ cross country coach and event organizer Tabitha Quinn said. 

The overall fundraising goal is $1000. According to Quinn, there has already been $400 raised. All proceeds for this event go to the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), which is an organization that focuses on studying cancer.

Make sure to stop by and support not only the cross country teams but also their fight against cancer.

On most days, you can find me playing tennis, but I also enjoy cozying up with a good book. My favorite things are Taylor Swift, Pinterest, coffee shops and chilly fall days. My plan for the future is to study sports medicine and to buy my dream car, a black Porsche.

Hey! During my third year on staff, my senior year, I have taken on the role of being Editor in Chief for Mountain Echo. My sophomore and junior year, I served as associate editor. Outside of school I enjoy hanging out with my best friend, exercising, watching Netflix, photography and working as a lifeguard and teaching swim lessons at the YMCA. After high school I plan to pursue a medical path, with the intent of being a nurse practitioner. I'm looking forward to this school year and seeing what it brings our way!
