Attention 9th graders planning on trying out for basketball: There will be an open gym today from 4:30 – 6 p.m. at the junior high. Also, there will be another open gym tomorrow (Wednesday) from 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the junior high.
The boys and girls cross-country teams participated in the District VI Championship Meet on Saturday morning. The girls came home with a 2nd place finish while the boys took the 5th spot. Ashlyn Noce and Lana Luke medaled in the girls race by finishing 2nd and 10th place respectively. The boys were paced by Dean Sunderland and Andrew Quinn who were 11th and 23rd . A special shout out goes to Ashlyn Noce and Dean Sunderland who also qualified for the State Meet as well. Congratulations and good luck in Hershey next weekend, Ashlyn and Dean!

Attention anyone interested in participating in Boys Basketball this winter: There will be an open gym/workout for any 10th, 11th and 12th grade students who are considering trying out for basketball this season on Wednesday from 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the Fieldhouse. These workouts are not tryouts and are not mandatory. If you are participating in a Fall sport, you are not able to participate.
Attention students: Can we tell you a secret? This year’s fall play is a thriller called Trap! and will be performed November 8 and 9 in the AAHS Auditorium. Tickets are available NOW in the student store for only $5 for students and $8 for adults. Tickets can also be purchased online at the link on our posters!
“It’s that time of year! Altoona’s Got Talent!!! We invite all our AAHS students to bring your best talent to our AAHS Talent Show, whether that be singing, dancing, magic, comedy, or your best hidden talent! We encourage you to perform as an individual or with a group. We want to see them all! Many of you are incredibly talented, and we can’t wait to show our school just how amazing you are. Auditions are Tuesday, November 12 beginning at 3 p.m. in the Band room. Auditions are open to all students and everyone is encouraged to be part of the show!! Please use the QR code on the posters found around the school to officially sign up. You will be given an exact time for your audition. Attention Juniors and Seniors: It is time to start gathering your Turkey Bowl Teams. This year’s Turkey Bowl is scheduled for Tuesday, November 26. The form for team sign-ups will go out on Thursday, October 31 at 7:40 a.m. The cost is $100 per team and is not required until Monday, November 25. The first 12 teams will be
selected to participate as long as all team qualifications are met. Additional teams will be placed on a standby list in the event another team is disqualified or drops out. All Turkey Bowl Teams must consist of a minimum of 7 female players and a maximum of 3 male players (10 players max). Each team may have up to 3 coaches. All team members must be juniors or seniors in good academic standing, have no current disciplinary issues, have good attendance, and must have NO FINES! Only one person should complete the team form. Each team member’s first and last name, grade level, and ID number are required – so start gathering that information!
