Jesi’s Christmas HAT DAY! Altoona Area School District is made up of students who are LEADERS! One important part of being a leader is helping others! AASD will sponsor a FUN HAT DAY for all buildings on Friday, November 8 to benefit JESI’S CHRISTMAS! Jesi’s Christmas was started several years ago by the Reilly family in memory of their daughter, Jessalyn, a former AASD graduate, whose young life was cut short at the age of 18 due to a car accident. For a $1.00 donation, students and staff may wear their favorite hat all day! All proceeds will go to Jesi’s Christmas, who will be sponsoring a holiday food drive for families in need in our community! Let’s help others AND get to wear a cool hat all day in school! Bring your dollar to any assistant principal’s office or the main office on Friday, November 8 and don’t forget your HAT!!!
Seniors: Stop by the literature rack to find a new scholarship offered by the family of Robert Hite. Scholarships are being awarded to 1 male student and 1 female student who exemplify outstanding performance in the areas of Academic Achievement, Citizenship, leadership and community service.
