Q: What made you want to be a part of Mountain Echo, do you like it?
A: “I was in the yearbook in junior high school, and I just found it really interesting writing and taking pictures, so I just continued that and found newspaper.”
Q: What are some of your favorite things about being a part of the newspaper?
A: “I like getting to share other people’s stories because I feel like they can’t. I’m thankful I get the opportunity to share them.”
Q: If you were able to choose the category for a news article, what would it be?
A: “I would probably choose a feature just because it’s fun to find someone, then feature them and their accomplishments and get that out there, like recognition for people.”
Q: What made you want to be a part of Lioneers, and do you enjoy it?
A: “Oh, I love Lioneers. It’s so fun. I just love the girls and the team. It’s so fun getting new girls every year and then just making new dances every year.”
Q: Do you dance outside of school, if so how long have you been doing it?
A: “I used to dance at a local studio. I don’t anymore. I danced for 14 years.”
Q: What’s it like being in the Girls League club?
A: “It’s fun. We definitely do a lot of stuff like Red Ribbon Week, and we do Haunted Hallways and Easter for Eli is a big one. It’s just fun because it’s just a large group of girls.”
Q: Do you enjoy being in the SADD club?
A: “I do, it’s the same thing my freshman year, and now junior year. Mainly all of the Lioneers joined so I followed in their footsteps and joined it as well.”
Q: What are some of the things you would like to accomplish this year?
A: “Have no late stories for newspaper going forward, better time management and to learn more about what I’m interested in.”
Q: What motivates you to keep being in newspaper?
A: “I would say just the writing aspect of it because I just like to write. It comes easy to me.”
Q: If you were to recommend someone join a newspaper, what would you say to them?
A: “I would just say be prepared to get a lot of information and be prepared to talk to a lot of different people.”
