Q: How long have you been playing and doing the violin and silks for?
A: “I’ve been playing the violin for maybe around eight years or so, and for the silks it has been nine-ish years. I’ve loved every second of playing and doing those things .”
Q: If you decided to go to college or trade school, what would your major be?
A: “One of my top schools that I plan on going to has to be the University of Pittsburgh, and I’m going to go for biology to get my degree in genetics and minor in microbiology.”
Q:What are some activities you do with your family?
A:“One of my favorite things that we do is we sometimes play family games, but also sometimes we watch movies.”
Q: What influenced you to play the violin?
A: “I’ve always had really bad asthma growing up, and I really wanted to play the flute. I knew I couldn’t because of my asthma, so I had to pick a string instrument. So I picked the violin which I wish I had picked the cello, but I still love my violin. And then my brother was in the marching band, and he really wanted me to be in the marching band, so I figured I could do silks to make him happy.”
Q:Are you loving this school year so far? And if you are, what is your favorite part about it?
A: “I do love this school year so far. It’s probably, definitely one of my lighter course classes, so it’s not as stressful. And my favorite part? Nothing really, all I can say is this year so far has been really chill and relaxing.”
Q:What’s your favorite part about being in yearbook?
A: “I can always be myself, and I don’t have to act differently.I don’t have to put on a fake face for people, and I can do what I enjoy doing.”
Q:What influenced you to join yearbook?
“So I grew up as a writer, and I loved writing. I was invited to be on the Livewire staff at the junior high, but it didn’t fit in my schedule. I took it my ninth grade year, and fell in love with writing and I enjoyed yearbook as well, because I fell in love with photography. I took both newswriting and yearbook in my tenth grade year here, but it got to be way too much, and I realized I loved photography more than I did writing.”
Q:How are you doing in yearbook so far? Are you enjoying it?
“So far, I enjoy it. It’s definitely stressful. And sometimes when you can’t get everything done, and sometimes I feel like I just need more than the 40-45 minutes we have.”
Q:What are some other hobbies that you like to do?
A:“I like to read a lot. I’m really into making bracelets, and I also love to take pictures in my free time.”
Q:If you could tell other people that want to do yearbook in the future, what would it be?
“Definitely do it. Because it’s just a small group. I’ve definitely made some of my best friends in that class, and I’ve had the best experience so far. People are really nice and are really easy to get along with.”
Q:What’s your favorite quote and why?
“It’s probably ‘follow your heart’ or something because I feel like people do things to please other people, but it doesn’t make them happy, as a person. If you really follow your heart. You’ll do what you love most, and actually love it.”
