Q: What is your dream job?
A: “I’m honestly not completely sure what. But something I enjoy and something that keeps me busy. I might be a photographer, and I’d also like to make my own music one day. I´m also very interested in fashion.”
Q: What skills from being on yearbook staff could benefit you in that job?
A: “You learn a lot of photography in yearbook, so that could definitely help. You also communicate a lot especially with strangers, and that’s a skill that is used in many jobs.”
Q: When did you know you wanted to be on the yearbook staff, and what led you to that?
A: “The people in yearbook just made me feel so welcome, especially my friends. I also just like to design the yearbook and include as many people as I can.”
Q: What made you choose yearbook rather than Mountain Echo?
A: “I’m not a big fan of newswriting, other than opinion stuff. I like to show stories more visually and design.”
Q: What are your strengths and weaknesses when it comes to yearbook?
A: “ I’d say I’m pretty good with making up ideas for spreads, headlines and stuff like that. But, and maybe this is kind of silly, I really hate speaking to people I don’t know, which is something I have to do a lot. Travelling for pictures is also a struggle sometimes because I dont have my license yet, but that’s more of a legal thing.”
Q: Is there anyone on the yearbook staff who inspires you or any who you look up to?
A: “ I think everyone inspires me, but I’d have to say Addi and Colby. They’re both so hardworking, and try their best to help everyone. I appreciate Colby a lot because he makes sure we also have fun and not just stress over pages all the time.
Q: What makes a good publication and what do you look for in a good publication?
A: “People who work together and make each other better people. You get close with a lot of people you work with here, so arguing isn’t always the best choice. I think people who kindly criticize each other as well are very important.”
Q: Based on last year’s yearbook, what improvements would you like to see present in this year?
A: “I’d definitely like to see a more diverse showing of students, not just people who are well known
Q: How do you manage your time and manage the stress that comes with big projects?
A: “Working at home helps- even though I personally hate it. Emailing teachers and communication is also very important.
Q: Do you do anything outside of school to benefit your experience in this class and if so in what ways does it benefit it?
A: “I have my own camera at home, so that can definitely help me practice. Having a job outside of school also helps communication and social skills, even if it’s a simple fast food job.”
