Q: What is your name and grade?
A: “My name is Mack Callan and I am in 12th grade.”
Q: Why did you want to join the drama club?
A: “At first I didn’t really know. I just wanted to get interested in it. And some of my friends were like, ‘Why don’t we just go and see how it is?’ And I didn’t really know what I was going to do. I just signed up for something random. And when I signed up for costumes, I just started to enjoy it so much that I stayed in it.”
Q: What part of the drama club are you looking forward to?
A: ”I am looking forward to going to my meetings and shows. And making shirts.”
Q: Who led you on to the drama club?
A: “A group of friends, but I will say one of them was my friend Leigha Short. She tends to get me into a lot of clubs. Actually, she got me into another one this year.”
Q: What is your favorite part about drama club?
A: “I enjoy hanging out with the people who I know and being able to do something I like, and then being able to go to the play or musical that we’re doing, and seeing that my work is being used. Seeing how it’s up on the stage and it actually looks really good.”
Q: What is the hardest part of being in drama club?
A: “I wouldn’t say there’s really any hard parts other than maybe money issues because a lot of people think that you have to pay to be in drama club which is not true. So the $50 fair share is if you want a shirt, and that’s just basically to be classified for a trip and a shirt. You don’t have to pay that though, to be in drama club.”
Q: How long have you been in the drama club?
A: “Two years now.”
Q: How many meetings do you have for drama club?
A: “We probably only had five meetings because we don’t have a lot of work to do this year for this play, just a lot of already used stuff we have. And the fact that it’s just the beginning of the year so it’s pretty slow. But once we get more into it I think we’re going to be doing more work.”
