The PSU Altoona jazz concert is happening on Dec. 14. For free, doors will open at 2:00 o.m. and it starts at 2:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium. University Jazz is a one credit class is a one credit class offered at PSU Altoona, which rehearses Wednesday evenings on campus.
“About three months ago, Mr. Hillard asked me to be the vocalist for the 2024 Jazz Band concert,” junior Madison Aboud said. “I have been taking lessons from Mrs. Hillard for four years now. I was so excited to be asked and instantly said yes. The group has been a blast to work with and I can’t wait for the concert,” Aboud said.
The director of the PSU Altoona Jazz is Josh Hillard. University Jazz utilizes community volunteers, and some are high school students from schools in Blair County.
