To get in the spirit of the holiday season, many enjoy showing their spirit through their creative talents. Whether through a hobby that they have developed for years, or creative talents that they occasionally visit, the following holiday crafts are simple for people of any skill level.
Popsicle stick Christmas trees
To make a Christmas tree out of popsicle sticks, first paint three popsicle sticks to be the desired color of the tree; it doesn’t have to be green! Cut a tree stump out and a tree topper out of colored paper. Glue the popsicle sticks into the shape of a triangle. Once the triangle shape is dried, glue on the tree stump and the tree topper. To decorate the tree, glue on other decorations. Some examples are glitter or ornaments made out of pompoms or paper.
To make a snowflake out of popsicle sticks, first paint four popsicle sticks. Then, align them in the shape of a snowflake before gluing them into place. Once they have dried together, they can be decorated.Decorations can include glitter, sequins and much more. The snowflake can be left as is, or, by attaching a string, they can be turned into an ornament.
To make a reindeer out of popsicle sticks, first paint three popsicle sticks to the color of the reindeer. Glue the stickers together to form a triangle shape. To make the reindeer’s antlers, either allow two sides of the triangle to overlap the third, or bend pipe cleaners into the shape of antlers and wrap them around the popsicle sticks. Glue googly eyes and a red circle to make the face. The nose can be best made from a pompom or colored paper.
Painting rocks is an excellent way to make decorations for the holidays, and they are fun to create. Using a clean rock and acrylic paint, a rock can be transformed into a festive piece of art. Some ideas for rock painting are snowmen, Santa Claus, penguins and Christmas trees.
