Bocce to start season

On a roll. Senior Connor Smith rolls for the red team and makes a “perfect shot,” according to the teams bocce coach. Smith will compete with the bocce team.

 The bocce team season will start Jan 4. The team’s season is ready to continue. 

“I like the sport itself, ” senior Brain Knott said. “Also, working with the special education kids as well and overall the sport is really fun too.”

The team’s schedule is listed below:

Sat 1/4 SFU/REAL invite at SFU Stokes Athletic Center 10:00 a.m. 

Tues 1/7 against Central 3:00 p.m.

Tues 1/14 against Hollidaysburg 3:00 p.m. 

Wed 1/15 against Claysburg Kimmel 4:00 p.m.

Wed 1/22 against Bellwood-Antis 3:30 p.m.

Student council to take field trip
FBLA States. These 9 students receive their plaques after Regionals at Saint Francis. This year's Regionals took place on Jan. 14
FBLA to compete at States
Attentive audience. The audience falls silent during a song. Regional Band performed several songs on March 7.
All - State festivals to be held April 9 - 12
Glass from the past. The National Art Honors Society visits the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, NY, in mid April and surveys this glass sculpture. The piece, "Nocturne 5", was created by Karen LaMonte and was inspired by her observations of the night sky as well as historical astronomy and piano compositions.

I signed up for Intro to Pub not knowing what it was and it was the best decision I made. I’ve loved photography and writing for as long as I can remember. This will be my first year on Mountain Echo and Horseshoe Yearbook. Outside of classes, I partake in drama club and Black Student Union. When I’m not here in the school, I’m drawing or reading.

I’m a junior, I play basketball and I jump in track and field. I took Intro to Publications and really enjoyed writing about athletics and stories that came up throughout the year; so I joined Mountain Echo. If I’m not at school I’m probably with my friends, playing basketball, or sleeping while listening to music. I listen to all kinds of music but my favorite artists at the moment are Mac Miller and Frank Ocean.
