On Dec. 20, Ben Cossitor’s Advanced and Studio Theater class will be putting on an ensemble of Christmas shows. The shows will be: “It’s a Wonderful Life” and “The Ultimate Christmas Show.” The whole showcase was put together by these classes in three different groups.
The showcase will be two hours long with two different sections for each show, and a short intermission in between.
“We’ve been working on it for the past five weeks,” Cossitor said. “ They’ve been working in groups to get things ironed out so they know what they’re doing, and, at this point, they’re ready for an audience.”
The first half will be “It’s a Wonderful Life,” which is atory about George Bailey, a man about to take his own life before an angel interferes.
The second half will be “The Ultimate Christmas Show:” a show about a Christmas performance during a snowstorm with a Comical twist.
“I feel like it’s very nice because it’s a Christmas-y themed show so that it gets just some fun before break,” senior Laura Reed said.
The classes have been working on this showcase since Oct. 22, and have been working hard to bring the show to life since. The show will be put on with an assortment of sound effects generated by the students. There will be a wide range of vocal changes and practical effects that the students will be using to make the show feel more alive.
“Bring your presents for a Christmas gift exchange,” senior Emily Pentland said.
Those interested in attending should come to the black box on Dec. 20 at 7 p.m. to watch these stories unfold. Everyone who is interested in seeing this performance is able to buy a ticket for $5. Family and friends get the first tickets to the show, and then it’s first come, first serve.
