Attention Astronomy Club: After a long winter hibernation, the club is back in action for spring! Join us this Thursday after school from 2:50 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. in the Planetarium. We will hand out permission slips for a
special St. Patrick’s Day walking field trip to the historical Church in the Middle of the Block and Greenbean Coffee. We will also finalize details for our spring joint field trip with Foreign Language Club in April. Hope to see you there!
Attention Students: The BSU will be holding a Black History Trivia Scavenger Hunt, with a reward of an ice cream sundae at Sundae Dinner!! Through Thursday of this week, on each of the TVs you will see a Black History Trivia question. Answer at least 10 of these questions on forms you can pick up from A208. Remember to put your name on it and turn it back into A208 by the end of the day Thursday, Feb. 27. Sundae Dinner will be hosted Tuesday, March 4th during lunches for those students who completed the trivia.
Attention grade 10-12 students: Are you interested in receiving a check for $200? We are extending the deadline to apply for the Challenge Program Community Service Award through March 14. Have you done any community service work in the past year that wasn’t part of the Community Service course at school? If so you could win $200 from The Challenge Program! We don’t have many applications yet so don’t assume you have not done enough community service to win. Applications for the Community Service awards are available in the Guidance Office.
ATTENTION SCHOLARSHIP SEEKERS: The Altoona Kiwanis Foundation has provided us with applications for their 2025 Scholarship for students enrolling in Penn State Altoona. To be considered for this scholarship, you must complete a one-page application and submit it before March 28!
Attention Altoona! Grab your coins and start donating! The “Pennies for Pets” fundraiser will be accepting donations all this week through the 28 th . Students and faculty are able to donate as much as they want to help our furry friends at the Central PA Humane Society. You are able to donate to vote for your favorite pet during lunch periods, and before school. Their jars will be located on the bridge with pictures of each one! If you donate $1 or more, make sure you grab a paw to write your name to be hung on the bridge. Each penny will help, so make sure you don’t forget to help out for an amazing cause!
Attention Senior student athletes: Applications for the William R. Sankey Memorial Scholarship are now located in the Scholarship rack. The deadline of March 7 is fast approaching so don’t delay.
Attention Spring Sports Athletes: Spring sports physicals will be held this Thursday, Feb. 27 at 3 p.m. in the high school training room which is located in the back hall of the fieldhouse. If this is your first sport of the year, please complete the online registration form and be prepared to pay the $50 registration fee. Returning athletes need to complete the online recertification form. Instructions for completing the online forms are located outside the Athletic Office.
