In perhaps the greatest AAHS March Madness field ever, Swim and Phys Ed
teacher Mrs. Yingling rose to the top. She is your Queen, and 2025 Teacher
Champion. In a championship battle for the ages, Mrs. Ying outlasted savvy
underdog Mr. D’Angelo with a one-day teacher record $165.00 in donations,
and 1,005 total votes. Mr. D’Angelo had a great tournament run, and he and
his students will be applauded for their strategy and tenacity.
AAHS students should be very proud of ourselves, as we blew away our
2023 record by raising $788.24 for the Altoona Food Bank, which will help so
many in our local community. Thank you for your generosity and supporting
all of your favorite teachers until the end!
Our 2025 Student Bracket Challenge Champion is Junior Marley Kelleher. She
will have her named engraved into the student trophy for all time. Along with
Marley, Sophomore Bailey Hoover, Junior Chloe Gibson, Freshman Peyton
Espigh, and Junior Zachary McGary round out the Top 5.
All 5 with have a special movie and popcorn afternoon in the Planetarium
with their entourages on a special afternoon in May.
Congratulations to Mrs. Yingling and her students, who will have an all-day
donut and pizza party coming poolside in the near future. Just don’t
eat before you swim!
