Star football player and Mercyhurst University commit, Mark Harrington received the AAHS football blanket award for being the most standout player on the team in early April.
For Harrington, playing football and completing all his short and long term goals was a lifestyle.
“It’s a huge honor to win the blanket award with all the other former recipients of the award and to be a part of that was definitely special and so honoring,” Harrington said.
Harrington feels his biggest takeaway from his game is the ability to believe in yourself and others.
“I would just say that always believe and always have faith in your teammates to play together and make plays, because one person’s not going to win a game,” Harrington said.
Teammate Judah Curry feels Harrington was a good leader for the football team.
“He pushed everybody past their limits and made sure that people weren’t giving up on themselves,” Curry said.
Harrington feels his biggest supporters are those he is closest to.
“I would definitely say my family,” Harrington said. “So my dad, my uncle, just pushed me every day in the summertime, and also coach Adams, the strengths class and just making your mindset right.”
