Q: Where did you go to high school and could you describe your high school experience?

A: I went to a Portage Area High School in Portage Pa. I thoroughly enjoyed the high school band, chorus, track and many extra curricular activities.

Q: How have the first few weeks of school gone for you?

A: Great. I enjoyed meeting the students and getting back to teaching.

Q: If you could describe your new classroom in one word what would it be?

A: Fabulous.

Q: Could you describe your prior teaching experience?

A:  I taught in Virginia for 11 years and bio integrated science for five years at the junior high.

Q: What got you interested in the subject you teach and what was your favorite growing up?

A: My high school biology teacher got me interested in biology; it was my favorite subject growing up.

Q: What brought you to Altoona to teach?

A: I heard about the opportunity and couldn’t wait to get back to teaching.

Q: What inspired you to become a teacher?

A: My mother was a teacher, and I was influenced by a lot of great teachers in my life.

Q:Why did you choose to teach high school?

A: I wanted to teach in my subject area.

Q: If you could teach another subject what would it be and why?

A: English because I love to read.

Q:What is your go to snack or lunch item to bring with you to school?

A: A rice cake

Q: If you could choose one fast food restaurant to be in the school cafeteria what would it be and what would you order there?

A: Chick fil la –  the original chicken sandwich.

Q:Who has been the most help to you as you have started this new job?

A: Mrs. Gardener.
