German classes, FLC travel to German Christmas market
December 7, 2021
On Dec. 10, Sandra Mitchell’s German classes and the Foreign Language Club (FLC) club will be traveling by bus to the 2021 Christkindl Market in Mifflinburg, Pa. They are going in order to experience and learn more about German culture, particularly Christmas German culture. The cost for students to go is $15. Senior Max Krier attended this event once before and will be going again.
“I thought it was cool. The food was good and there were many things to buy. The Schnitzel was the best part. I haven’t seen the juggling act yet, however,” Krier said.
The time that will be spent there is less than Mitchell initially intended due to a shortage of buses in the school district. Nonetheless, thanks to her efforts, students will still be able to go from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The highlight of the trip will be the act done by the German Juggle Boy. This event is an exciting and festive way for the school to celebrate and embrace other nation’s cultures.
