On March 3, the Altoona Area High School will be hosting a String Spectacular Concert where students who play a string instrument will perform on stage in the auditorium.  This concert will be held at the school from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will also be joined by the elementary and junior high students as they attend the show.

“I am excited to welcome both the elementary and junior high orchestras to our concert.  This is the first big concert for the elementary students and the junior high is excited to hear the high school orchestra play.  We also have the high school string students write pen pal letters to the elementary students.  The night of the concert, they meet face to face.  That is always a fun experience,” orchestra director Kelly Detwiler said.

Tickets for the event will be sold at the door upon entry and will cost $3.  This concert will display the hard work and dedication the students have put into playing their instruments as they perform for a crowd.
