The Physics competition will be on March 15 from 2:45 p.m. to 5:30 or 6 p.m. The first winner has a chance to win $2500, second can win $2000, third can win $1500, fourth can win $1000 and fifth place can win $500. If students decide to work with another person, they have to split the money.

“I think all the students will do pretty well,” science teacher Deidra Dumm said. “It’s a known challenge, so they know exactly what they have to do. They know what the ultimate goal is, that it is a competition and it’s pretty relative to the design that someone makes.”

During the competition, students will be making a catapult out of various things that will be supplied. Only items supplied will be able to be used to build the catapult. Whoever has the greatest distance when launching the catapult is the winner.
