Q: How long have you worked at AAHS?

A: “28 years.”

Q: What was your role at AAHS?

A:  “I’m a Multi-disabled Support (MDS) teacher.”

Q: If you had to describe your years at Altoona in one or two words, what would it be?

A: “Technologically advanced.”

Q: What is your favorite memory from Altoona?

A: “Seeing the development of the kids.”

Q: What made you decide to take the path of education?

A: “I was a helper with special education kids. They had a group of special education kids here, and that’s what made me come and work.”

Q: What do you plan to do after retiring?

A: “I have a friend who has a company, and I’ll look forward to helping out with his business.”

Q: What will you miss most about working here?

A: “The kids, not the paperwork, but the kids.”

Q: What have you learned from the students at Altoona?

A: “My group is a fun group. We do a little bit of learning, but we do a lot of playing. They learned a lot here. Some of my guys don’t get to go out; they go from school right to home. So we travel and get them out to see things. We take field trips to the bowling alley, the amusement parks and we go over to McDonald’s.”
