Dear Mountain Echo editor,
I feel that seniors shouldn’t have to do extra electives in high school if they only need a few core classes to finish for college. Seniors get their diplomas based on the fact they finished all their required credits to be able to further education. Electives at the most should be optional for seniors who’ve chosen to do them. If not, they should also have a choice because it’s unnecessary and doesn’t benefit them. If a senior still needs to make up credits and is put in electives that will get them to the right amount of credits they need then I see nothing wrong with it. But if a senior who only needs to finish up English or another core class doesn’t need electives to graduate it should be their choice to add or decline them.
Sincerely,
Heba Allah Omar
