Q: What inspired you to start doing competitive lifting?
A: “I used to go to the gym just to work out, and I saw people lifting, and I thought it looked cool.”
Q: What else are you passionate about or interested in?
A: “I’m interested in math, science and I want to be a physical therapist. I also like history a lot.”
Q: How do you manage your time between school, Mountain Echo and lifting competitions?
A: “I just set goals every week, and I try to accomplish them. I make to-do lists and try to use my time wisely.
Q: What advice would you give to someone who is struggling with a school/life balance?
A: “Just don’t let it stress you out, because you don’t want to be stressed out and overwork yourself. Depending on what grade you’re in, you don’t want to burn out during your freshman year. Don’t stress out about it, it’ll all work out in the end.”
Q: How would you describe your mindset?
A: “I’m definitely a hard worker. I always like having something to do. Usually you won’t catch me just sitting there, I’m always doing something.”
Q: What is your go-to hype song and why?
A: “Anything by Kanye West. I like any kind of rapper like that.”
Q: Who do you look up to as a role model and what makes them stand out?
A: “I definitely look up to my sister a lot. She’s in newswriting, she’s just accomplished a bunch of stuff in life, so I look up to her.”
Q: What is your biggest achievement and how did it make you feel?
A: “Making nationals in lifting and getting second place one year. I definitely felt happy, because all my hard work paid off.”
Q: Who is your biggest supporter and how does that affect your life?
A: “Definitely my friends and family, they always support me in whatever I do, and it just makes me feel like I can accomplish anything.”
Q: What is your main goal in life?
A: “ I want to be successful in life and have a good job and all that, but I also want to have an impact on the world. I just don’t want to be average, I want people to know who I am.”
