As the spring sports season begins, athletes across different teams are not only preparing physically but also setting personal and team goals. Each athlete is entering the season with a mindset focused on improvement and success.
Senior track member Sophia O’Dea’s main goal is to continue improving her times and become a stronger competitor at each meet.
“I just want to keep improving my times and get better at every meet,” O’Dea said.
For the softball team, senior Kaya Sprankle emphasized the importance of team success and postseason ambitions.
“Our main goal is to make Districts and go all the way,” Sprankle said. “Hopefully, we want to compete.”
She and the whole team are determined to not only qualify for Districts but to be a serious contender.
Senior baseball player Kody Webster is also focused on both individual and team improvement this season.
“I’m focused on being a more consistent player and helping my team win games,” Webster said.
On the tennis team, senior Sean Ratchford is concentrating on sharpening his skills and staying competitive in every match.
“I just want to keep improving and try to compete,” Ratchford said. “Hopefully we are able to win each match.”
By working hard in practice, he hopes to see his effort translate into success during matches.
Senior Parker Huey-Kish is also looking to elevate his volleyball performance this season. His goal is to help lead his team to more wins while improving overall team chemistry.
“I want to help my team win more and overall just make sure the team as a whole is all in a good place to compete,” Huey-Kish said.
Volleyball relies heavily on communication and teamwork, and his focus shows a commitment to both individual growth and team success.
Athletes across all spring sports have personal goals they want to achieve over the course of the season, and as each season progresses, all are hopeful they will be achieved.
