Practice makes perfect. Junior Jarrett Hann and senior Christian Howard prepare for the Isaacs by practicing one of their musical numbers from the play. Drama adviser and play director Ben Cossitor observes them as he adds notes to help with the upcoming performance.

On Saturday, May 25, the drama club will perform two numbers of their spring play, ‘Little Shop of Horrors.’

The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Mishler Theater. Tickets for the awards show are $18 per person.

The Isaacs is an award show that celebrates and recognizes high school musicals from the region.

Altoona was nominated in 11 categories including actor and actress in a leading role, best stage crew, achievement in design and best overall production.

Members and contributors of the play are especially excited for the upcoming awards show, even cheering on some of their drama peers such as senior Paige DeGennaro who was nominated for actress in a leading role as Audrey.

“A lot of hard work went into this production. I’m happy for Paige because she has been working hard ever since she first started drama. She really deserves the award,” sophomore and stage crew member Lana Ranger said.
