Miller admits to English being his favorite class throughout high school. The school subject led him to be the author he is today.

Teachers’ aide, Brian Miller, has three published books. He has one memoir and two poetry books currently available.

His education led him to become an author.

“I went to Penn State Altoona, and my professors encouraged me to continue writing poetry. So then, I got some individual poems published. Then I went for a chap book, which is a small collection of poems,” Miller said.

Students can order and read his works.

“My goal is to have them be inspired someway; some type of feeling, happy or sad. When I was in school, there were different issues, we all had academic and social problems. I’m interested to see how a high school student would react to my memoir and how that has changed since I went to high school,” Miller said.

He has two published books; although if he does write another book, it would be a poetry book.

My two poetry chap books, ‘The Blue and White Tent’ and ‘The Cosmic Tour’ are about love and reflections, although ‘The Cosmic Tour’ is a more reflective book since I wrote it after graduating college,” Miller said.

Miller’s other book, titled ‘Patience of Faith,’ is a memoir.

“My friend encouraged me to write a memoir, and I said well, I can’t do that. I’m a poet, but then I thought what if because I was always afraid of public speaking in high school. I took speech classes and educational clubs to help me become a teacher. But then, I started reading my books at open mic nights. Then I thought, I’m overcoming my fear of public speaking. This is my memoir. I can just talk about how I overcame my social and academic struggles,” Miller said.

Miller would like to encourage young writers.

“If you’re a writer, don’t be afraid of rejection, your things will be rejected lots of times. The cool thing about my memoir was when I first sent out my memoir it got rejected; but then I had the option to self publish,” Miller said.
