Romance lovers must read Hoover’s new book

Charlie Kephart, Guest Reporter

In this new contemporary fiction novel, “It Ends With Us“, by Colleen Hoover, a sitting on the edge of your seat love triangle unfolds between Ryle, Atlas, and Lily.

Lily moves to Boston and meets Ryle, a neurosurgeon on top of a roof late at night. A spark happens on this roof…quite literally, and they form a connection in less than an hour. Once Ryle leaves, they don’t run into each other again. After months of not seeing each other, fate brings them back together. On one of their outings they run into Atlas, Lily’s first love. As old feelings arise, she has a choice to make..Ryle or Atlas?

Colleen Hoover is an astounding author. I didn’t go to sleep until 4 in the morning the first time I read this just because I couldn’t put the book down. She really knows how to capture the modern side of love. Her use of the love triangle made for the perfect plot twists for this novel. She includes a lot of dialogue, which is usually more interesting to readers. Lily writes in a diary for most of her life and every so often a diary entry will pop up for readers to get a backstory. Being able to read all of her diary entries throughout the book really lets you enjoy the book on a whole different level.

As a romance book lover, It Ends With Us was a nice switch from the usual romance I read about in other novels. It is definitely my favorite book I have ever read. I completely recommend this book if you enjoy romance and want a change of pace or if you love drama-filled plots with mind-blowing twists. 5/5 stars for Colleen Hoover’s take on modern romance.
